Bioviz - How do I change annotation and background colors in the Integrated Genome Browser?

To change annotation and background colors in IGB, click the File menu and select the Preferences Option.

Then, click the Tiers tab. Click on the Color and background columns to activate the IGB Color Chooser window. From there, you can change the colors for annotations and tier backgrounds.

Tip: Be sure to pick an off-white color for the background so that you will be able to see the edge-matching bars that appear when you click an item in the display. The edge-matching bars will appear on the boundaries of any annotation or item that has the same start and end coordinates as the item you've selected. This is very useful when comparing splice variants, for example.

An example Preferences window. By default, any new annotations added to the IGB display will be colored dark green against a gray background.
